HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 18, 2003–Input/Output, Inc. (NYSE:
IO) announced today that it has appointed Chris M. Friedemann, age 38,
as Vice President, Commercial Development. Mr. Friedemann will be
responsible for corporate strategic marketing activities and will play
a key role in the strategic planning process and in all merger and
acquisition activities of the Company.

Bob Peebler, CEO of Input/Output commented, “We are delighted to

Before joining Input/Output, Mr. Friedemann was the Managing
Director of RiverBend Associates, a privately held
management-consulting firm based in Houston. Positions prior to that
include President of Tradeum, a venture-backed software company that
was sold to VerticalNet in 2000, and Principal and partner at McKinsey
& Company, where from 1992 to 2000, he provided management consulting
on growth and operational strategies to global energy firms. He also
has experience as a senior reservoir engineer with Exxon, in field
operations with Unocal and in energy merchant banking with Bankers
Trust. He holds an undergraduate degree (with Distinction) in
Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from
Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
