Menus

To edit the menu items, access the menus from the dashboard with Appearance->Menus.

At the top of this page, select the menu you want to edit. They are broken down into four menus: Main Menu (Primary), Secondary Menu, Quick Links and Footer Menu.

To add a menu item, select a page from the left and click Add to Menu. Drag it to the desired position. To make it a child of a menu item, drag it under the parent item and slightly to the right.

Primary & Secondary Menus

These are the menus that are displayed in the left-hand navigation.

To edit/add/remove modules from the menu slide-outs, click the down arrow next to the menu item you want to edit. Note that only the top level menu items (items that are not indented/under other items) can have modules. To add a module, click the blue Add Module button and select from the options in the popup box. To remove modules, hover the module you want to remove and click the ‘-‘ button.

*Main Menu items have the option to add/edit/remove the icon for the menu as well as the color associated to the menu item.

The modules available are as follows:

Page Link


The options available for Page Link are:

Image: if no image is present, no image will be displayed.
Description: This displays below the image. If no description is present, no description is displayed.
Page Link: Select a page that this module will link to. If no page is selected, it defaults to link to the menu item that you’re editing.

 


Recent News

The options available for Recent News are:

Label: This displays at the top of this widget. (Thought Leadership). If no label is present, no label will be displayed.
Select News Type: Choose between insights or investor news.
Number of posts to show: This defaults to show 6 of the most recent posts is no number is present.
See More Page: Create a link to the archive page. This displays below the list of posts.
Display featured topics? If this is checked, the featured topics pulled from Insights->Insights Settings->Featured Topics will be displayed below the list of posts

 


Taxonomy List

The options available for Taxonomy List are:

Select Taxonomy: Choose which taxonomy you want to display. Based on the corresponding image:

Exploration & Production = parent term
Acquisition Solutions = child term
Acquisition Consulting, Training Support… = related posts

 


Template

Choose between the available templates. These are hard-coded and will require manually changing the output in development.

 


 

To append blocks of links at the bottom of the menu slide-out, menu items should be formatted as seen here. Parent -> Child -> Child. To get a header with no links ie. More: choose ‘Custom Link’ from the left and set the URL to # and add the text in the Navigation Label field.

Ion Settings

Ion Settings can be found at the bottom of the left-hand column of the dashboard. It’s broken up into three pages:

Ion Settings

404 Fields: Language for the 404 page instances where no results are found, and if related results are found.
Footer “Learn More” CTA: These are selectable from any editable page of the site. To create a new one, click Add Learn More CTA. Provide the title, image (background image of container), text and link. If no link is provided, the text area will span the full width of the container.


Locations

These are the locations that will appear on the locations page in the about section (About -> Locations). They’re broken down into three tabs. They all share the phone number field. To use this, click the blue Add Phone Number button and provide the label and phone number. This will be turned into a link.

Headquarters: Complete all fields. Any that are omitted will be omitted from headquarters area on the page.
Secondary Locations: Same as above, but click the blue Add Location button to add an additional location. To remove a location, hover the location you want to remove and click the ‘-‘ button. To reorder, hover the left side of the location and drag it to the desired position. Use the up arrow icon in the top left to minimize the location area. This will not remove it or alter its appearance on the site.
Tertiary Locations: These are broken down into groups by country. To add a country, click the blue Add Country button at the very bottom of the page. Within this section, add locations the same way they are added in the Secondary Locations section.


Social Media

To add a social media link, click the blue Add Social Media Link and complete all fields. The icon should be at least 2x in size and in png format with a transparent background.

Homepage

To edit the homepage go to Pages and select Home.

Header Slides

Header slides are edited in the Header Posts tab. To add a slide, click the blue Add Slide button and fill out the following fields:

Post or Page: Select a post or page that this slider will link out to.
Slider Link Title: This appears as the small title of the slider on the scrubber at the top.
Title Text: This is the main title of the slide. If this is left empty, the title of the page or post will be used instead.
Alternate Excerpt Text: This is the description of the slide. If this is left empty, the excerpt of the page or post will be used instead.
Alternate Link: This will create the link for the slide. If no link is present, it will default to the link of the page or post with the button ‘Keep Reading’

Homepage Modules

Modules are created and edited in the Modules tab. They’re broken into two columns. Modules Column 1 on the left and Modules Column 2 on the right. Modules can be rearranged within their columns but columns cannot be rearranged.

Modules Column 1

Post Preview:
Post Type: Select the post type to display. The most recent 2 posts will be displayed.
Title: This field displays at the top of the module. If this is empty the label for that post type will be used instead.

Modules Column 2

Events: This displays the recent events module.
Post Slides: Same as Post Type above. These display in a slider of the most recent 6 posts of the selected post type.

Pages

To add pages, from the sidebar click or hover Paged and click Add New. Content should be added to the usual Title and Content areas.

Featured Image: This image is used as the background of the header. If no image is present, no image will be displayed on the single page, and an ION placeholder image will be displayed in some preview instances.
Sidebar Image: This image appears in the sidebar just below the main image. If no image is present, no image will be displayed.
Page Attributes:
– Template: This should be left alone for the most part.
– Parent Page: On pages and some post types, you can select a page as the current pages parent. This requires custom functionality in most cases. Be sure to check the result of setting a parent page after publishing.
– Order: In rare instances, setting the order will set the order that the posts are displayed on the frontend. Keep in mind that 0 is the first index.

Page Layout

The Page Layout option controls the main layout of the page. There are currently 3 options:

Standard (Default): This is the layout with a header, a sidebar on the left and content to the right:

No Sidebar: This layout has a header, and no sidebar. The content is in the same position as the standard layout on the right:

Full Width: This layout has a header, and no sidebar. The content spans the full width of the page:

Content Tabs

Content tabs are available on most pages, posts and post types. Content tabs will be displayed on the page like this:

Under Content Tabs select Add Content TabThe Title field appears in the tab itself and the Content field appears as the content under that tab. To add additional tabs, select Add Content Tab again.

** IMPORTANT **
To include tabs at a certain point in the content, use the shortcode where you want it to appear. If you don’t include this shortcode, the content tabs will automatically be displayed at the bottom of the content.

Insights

To add an insight post, click or hover ‘Insights’ on the left navigation on the dashboard. Click Add Insight.  Add a title in the Title field and content in the Content field.

Next, refer to Pages -> Content Tabs.

From the Related Resources section, choose related resources that correspond to the current insight.

From the Related Technologies section, choose related technologies that correspond to the current insight.

Sidebar (Right side navigation)

Add ‘Taxonomies’ to categorize the insight
Tags: Topic(s). Previously added tags will appear as you type. To add a new one, type it in the field and hit Enter.
Author: Author(s) of insight. Choose an author or click Add New Author to add a new one.

Excerpt: The content in this field appears on some preview instances as well as below the title on the single page.
Featured Image
: This image is used for the wide image below the header. If no image is present, no image will be displayed on the single page, and an ION placeholder image will be displayed in some preview instances.
Page Layout
: Options for changing the layout. This should remain as Standard in most cases for Insights
Sidebar Image: This image appears in the sidebar just below the main image. If no image is present, no image will be displayed.

Select insights that will appear on the Insights menu slide-out

Featured Topics
Select topics that will appear on the Insights menu slide-out

Resources

To add a resource post, click or hover ‘Insights’ on the left navigation on the dashboard. Click Add Resource.  Add a title in the Title field. Most resource posts will be PDFs: to upload a PDF, select Add File under the Upload PDF header. Select a PDF from the media library or upload a new one.

Resource Relationships
Choose related offerings and technologies that relate to this resource.

Sidebar (Right side navigation)

Select or add:
Tags: Topics
Resource Type: Abstract, Case Study etc.
Author: Resource author
Interest: Data Library, Imaging Etc.
Source: Geophysics, NPF etc.

Featured Image: This image is used as preview images in some instances. If no image is present, no image will be displayed on the single page, and an ION placeholder image will be displayed in some preview instances.

Offerings

The Offerings hierarchy is Offering Type -> Offering Type Child -> Offering.

Offering Types

To make a new Offering Type, on the left-hand navigation of the dashboard, hover or click Offerings and click Offering Type. Input the following:

Name (Required): Name of Offering Type.
* Slug is created automatically
Description
: This appears as the short description in preview posts as well as below the title on the single page. Not required.
Featured Image: This appears on preview posts as well as the background header image on the single page. If no image is present, a placeholder will be used in some preview instances
Content: If content is present, this will appear below the header on the single page. Not required.

Related Resources & Related Technologies

*To make the Offering Type a child, select the parent Offering Type in the select field below Slug

Offering Post

Data Library

To edit the content on the data library page, from the left side dashboard go to Data Library -> Data Library Settings.

Overview: This is the overview content.
Featured Programs: Select programs to feature below the data library map.

Regions

To create a region, go to Data Library and select Add New Region or Program. Fill in the title field. The content field can be empty. Below the content, make sure Region is selected under Post Type.

Add the unique token in the Token field.

If this is a child of another region ie. Arctic -> Beafort Sea choose the parent in the sidebar under Page Attributes -> Parent Page

Remember to click Update

Data Program

To create a data program, go to Data Library and select Add New Region or Program. Fill in the title field and content field. Below the content, make sure Data Program is selected under Post Type.

Add the unique token in the Token field.

Add the data programs region by selecting the region in Page Attributes -> Parent Page

In the sidebar under Data Types choose the data types that correspond to the data program.

Remember to click Update
