The Pacific Rim contains several productive forearc and trench-to-slope basins with >50 billion bbls of oil produced to date. ION’s Pacific dataset highlights a compilation of newly-acquired and reprocessed 2D seismic reflection data spanning underexplored and frontier areas from offshore Mexico to Panama, as well as eight forearc basins offshore Peru.

The Central American regional dataset allows chronostratigraphic correlations from the well-constrained Sandino basin in Nicaragua to adjoining frontier areas to the north and south.

In Peru, a thick pre-Tertiary section, DHIs observed on the latest seismic data, and new source rock information suggest the presence of hydrocarbon-generating source intervals similar to those in the Talara Basin.
