Mauritania 3D is a multiclient reimaging programme covering > 19,000 sq km of the Mauritanian offshore coastal basin, including the discoveries at Chinguetti, Banda, Tiof, Pelican and Faucon. In this webinar, we will discuss the value and challenges of integrating and reimaging mega-regional data into a single high-quality dataset. We will also cover geological highlights of the data and provide an overview of the renewed understanding of the prospectivity of the basin through the initial interpretation of a single contiguous high-quality 3D dataset.

Presented by:

Elisabeth Gillbard, Senior Geologist

Elisabeth is an exploration geoscientist with over 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and has been a member of ION’s Investment & Programme Assurance Group since 2014. She has worked on prospect to regional scale evaluations of geological and geophysical data, both from a geological perspective and in the technical interpretation support for velocity model building. Elisabeth has been the lead interpreter on many 2D and 3D seismic projects in a wide range of tectonic settings.

Simon Dean, Senior Geophysicist

Simon is a geoscientist with more than 20 years’ experience in geophysical data acquisition and interpretation. Specializing in seismic imaging, he has experience in many geological areas, from continental rifting and basin formation to complex active deformation at subduction zones. Simon has project managed and led the imaging for proprietary projects and multi-client programs both on and offshore.
