Pre-stack depth migration (PreSDM) is critical in areas where there are significant and rapid lateral or vertical changes in the velocity that would unacceptably distort PreSTM images, including areas characterized by subsalt structures.

Our complex imaging approach is well suited for imaging very steep and overhanging structures when velocity anisotropy is present, or when both accurate depth structure and amplitude preservation are required. Because our PreSDM algorithms preserve amplitude, the output gathers are well suited for AVO studies. ION’s compliment of migrations support advanced anisotropy including VTI, TTI, and orthorhombic. For attenuation conditions where amplitude loss and frequency decay may be encountered, ION supports a full suite of Q migrations (one way and two way). Because ION is an industry leader in advanced imaging algorithms, tools like our RTM are efficient and can be set to run at high frequencies than other conventional RTMs. Our "no compromise" approach in selecting depth imaging parameters results in higher quality subsurface images in less time.
