The most effective training offered by the geophysicists at ION involves working directly with the client’s geoscientists to design specific seismic acquisition projects using MESA software. This training gives the client hands-on experience with the software on live projects of direct interest and importance to the client.
An ION geophysicist will work with your geophysical staff to create detailed seismic survey design workflows specifically customized to the design needs of the project. Using MESA and other computational tools, this training includes:
- Instruction on geophysical and operational issues as they pertain to seismic survey design
- Identifying and assimilating the appropriate information required for successfully solving various geophysical and operational problems
- Geophysical calculations for determining geophysical parameters
- Understanding and evaluating the trade-offs between various geophysical parameters and the resulting operational and economic costs.
The training is a long-term investment for the individual and company because the principles and techniques learned in this exercise can be applied to any geophysical project in the future. This workflow training is recommended for both land and marine surveys.
