INDIASPAN

Many of the international oil & gas companies are setting exploration goals for offshore India due to some giant gas discoveries over the last five years.  In response to customer demand for improved regional understanding of the petroleum systems of offshore India, GX Technology designed IndiaSPAN.
 
IndiaSPAN is an ultradeep regional seismic data program and geologic study which covers all the major basins off the east and west coasts of India.  The program layout was designed with the active participation of regional experts, and with the goal of better understanding the regional geology and less explored basins in the region.  IndiaSPAN is comprised of approximately 17,000 km of 2D marine data, of which approximately 10,500 km is along India’s east coast.  The seismic data acquisition involved long offsets of 10,000 meters, record lengths of 18 seconds, and a specially designed seismic source to illuminate the basin and rift architecture of the Indian Margin. 

GXT will use its advanced processing and depth imaging technologies to deliver the structural framework in the depth domain.  With each data set, clients will receive an interpretation report prepared by regional experts and designed to help identify potential play types and exploration prospects in the area.

• Imaging of Krishna Godavari Basin, Bay of Bengal Fan, Mahanadi Basin, Cauvery Basin, West Bombay High, Indus Fan, and Palar Basin
• 17,500 km of new acquisition
• Conceptual model of the deepwater potential of offshore India

• Intensive study of Indian Ocean plate tectonics and conjugate ties with East Africa
