I/O Launches New Version of System Four
Enhances Reliability and Operational Productivity
HOUSTON – October 20 – Input/Output, Inc. (NYSE: IO) announced today the latest release of System Four, a cable-based land seismic recording system. Available in December 2005, System Four3 offers a comprehensive suite of new features to ensure cost-effective acquisition of high quality seismic data in the most challenging onshore environments.
Notable product enhancements include:
- Refined user interface for precise fault identification and rapid system troubleshooting
- Advanced static and lightning protection
- Expanded cable offerings customized for specific environmental challenges
- Introduction of DataBridge, a wireless backbone for obstacle avoidance
Additional productivity benefits can also be achieved with the system’s new vibroseis productivity package that integrates with I/O’s Pelton Vib Pro source controller and that incorporates a new release of VibNet. VibNet enables stakeless surveys by properly positioning the location of each vibrator in a fleet and by utilizing the ability of System Four to output center-of-gravity data.
Jim Hollis, Vice President of I/O’s Land Imaging Systems Division, commented, “Working closely with our current System Four customers, I/O’s engineering team incorporated a series of enhancements that will deliver significant productivity gains and minimize downtime during field operations. As the demand for full-wave data continues to increase, the System Four3 platform, coupled with our VectorSeis digital, 3C sensor, will allow oil & gas companies to address a wide range of challenging geophysical objectives and obtain vital information needed to reduce their E&P risk.”
System Four3 continues to build on the proven foundation of the System Four platform in order to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership in land acquisition. Features that continue to be supported in the newest product release include advanced telemetry management, a Windows-based operating system, unmatched system dynamic range, and superior performance in proximity to static and lightning.
