Dick’s Last Resort
http://sanantonio.dickslastresort.com/index.php
406 Navarro (on the Riverwalk) (210) 224-0026
Dick’s is located smack dab in the middle of San Antonio’s Riverwalk. The massive appeal of Dick's is hard to put your finger on. We don't know if it's the wacky tacky décor, the sometimes sassy service, or the bountiful buckets of fabulous food. We do know the foods hot, the beer's cold and if the music's too loud you're too old. That's right, we're Dick's where it's fun for all, all in fun for all that dare to enter.  “This is the joint your mamma warned you about!”

Boudro's on the Riverwalk
http://boudros.com/boudros/
421 E Commerce St, San Antonio (210) 224-8484
Boudro's is an experience to savor, embracing all the flavor of our regional heritage with a distinctive menu of Texas and southwestern specialties. Then it's time for the best food on the River, from smoked shrimp enchiladas and blackened prime rib to seafood straight from the Gulf. A Texas bistro on the Riverwalk.

CLUBS

Durty Nellies
We love this place. An Irish piano bar where the crowd is known to sing along. This drinking establishment is widely known for having one of the best beer selections in San Antonio.
200 S. Alamo St. (Hilton Palacio del Rio)

Swig
111 W Crockett St, San Antonio (210) 476-0005
Swig is a full-service 1940s-style contemporary martini and cigar bar, located in the South Bank on the San Antonio Riverwalk. Featuring Martinis and live jazz nightly, ultra-chic Swig is where the classic American cocktail meets its contemporaries--where Cary Grant meets Uma Thurman. It's Martini time at Swig!

Club Cohiba
1015 Navarro St, San Antonio (210) 222-2008
Enter the quiet lobby of the historic Havana Riverwalk Inn and take the elevator down to the basement. When the doors open, you'll feel like you're walking into someone's living room. Leather couches and chairs dot the small two-room bar. Neatly painted black pipes overhead remind you that you're underground. The soft piped-in jazz allows conversation at a reasonable decibel level.

The Davenport
200 E Houston St, San Antonio (210) 354-1200
The Davenport in San Antonio is a great place to come and lounge. Amazing cocktails and specialty martinis and a casual vibe bar. They have an extensive collection single malt scotches in stock for those who seek a nice clean taste. Head downstairs Wednesday through Saturday to enjoy the DJ-spun music. Good fun shouldn't come with a cost, which is why they never charge a cover.

Mad Dogs San Antonio
123 Losoya St Ste 19, San Antonio (210) 222-0220
Legend has it that two Scots living in Hong Kong founded the original Mad Dogs British Pub in 1984. A couple of years later they opened another on the Chinese mainland. Oddly enough, in 1995 the San Antonio Riverwalk was graced with Mad Dogs San Antonio. After quickly glancing through the drink menu, it becomes obvious that the Scots' research in regions outside of Texas (gasp) paid off. While purists will be satisfied with Hennessy XO and 18-year-old Macallan, Mad Dogs pours up three types of "orgasms" and other kinky-named cocktails.

Howl at the Moon
http://howlatthemoon.com/
111 W Crockett St, San Antonio (210) 212-4695
Piano bars exist to serve one indelible human need: to sing after you've had a few. Nevertheless, it's a piano bar and that means you can't help but have fun when the best songs are played and the packed-in audience starts rocking in off-key enthusiasm. Be prepared for off-color jokes, as well as good-natured public humiliation of folks called up to the stage.

Polly Esthers Culture Club
http://www.pollyesthers.com/
212 College St, San Antonio (210) 220-1972
Located across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe, this Riverwalk club offers three levels of dance music and raucous reveling. This spot includes a '70s disco, an '80s room (Culture Club) and a room with high-energy, hyper-BPM dance music. Expect plenty of barely clad barflies, slick talkers and body-pressing beats.

LIVE MUSIC

Casbeers
http://www.casbeers.com/home.htm
Casbeers is a soulful, kitschy little (about 100 seats) spot with great food (enchiladas and burgers.) They have live music every night they're open. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights there's no cover.

Luna
http://www.lunalive.com/
Luna is a little more upscale, listening room with a romantic ambiance.  Music tends to be on the jazz side of things, but they book all kinds so check the schedule.

Sam’s Burger Joint
http://www.samsburgerjoint.com/
Sam's Burger Joint  books all sorts of music from Punk to Blues to Singer/Songwriters to Swing to Poetry Slam.  They're currently hosting the San Antonio Blues Society's Blues Jam on Thursday nights.  Full bar, burgers, and eclectic mix of clientele.
