Corporate Leadership at ION Geophysical

R. Brian Hanson
President and Chief Executive Officer
R. Brian Hanson applies his broad experience in the science and technology industry to ION. Mr. Hanson serves as our President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Hanson served as our Chief Financial Officer from May 2006 until December 2011.
Beginning in 1986 until 1998, Mr. Hanson served in various positions with Culligan Water Conditioning, an international manufacturer of water treatment products and a producer and retailer of bottled water products. His positions with Culligan included Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Hanson held a variety of positions at Fisher Scientific International Inc., a NYSE-listed manufacturer and supplier of scientific and healthcare products and services, including Vice President of Finance for the Healthcare group from 1998 to 2002 and Chief Operating Officer from 2002 to 2003. In July 2004 until November 2005, Mr. Hanson served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alliance Imaging, Inc., a NYSE-listed provider of diagnostic imaging services to hospitals and other healthcare providers.
Education:
Mr. Hanson received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA degree from Concordia University in Montreal.

Chris Usher
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, GeoScience
Chris Usher brings over twenty years of leadership in the geophysical industry and hands-on experience in the fields of seismic data processing and imaging, new product commercialization, and software development.
Mr. Usher began his career in field operations at Western Geophysical. In 2000, he moved to Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) in London and served as President of its global data processing division until 2004. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Senior Corporate Vice President, Integrated Services, at Paradigm Geotechnology in London. In 2005, Mr. Usher joined Landmark Software and Services, a division of Halliburton, as Senior Director. From January 2010 until joining ION in December 2012, Mr. Usher served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Global Geophysical.
Education:
Mr. Usher is a graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Science degree in geology and geophysics.

Ken Williamson
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, GeoVentures
Ken Williamson brings to ION a broad international experience in the seismic industry. He served as Senior Vice President of our GeoVentures group since January 2007 and was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2012.
Between 1987 and 2006, Mr. Williamson was employed in various positions by Western Geophysical, which in 2000 became part of WesternGeco, a seismic solutions and technology subsidiary of Schlumberger. While at WesternGeco, he served as Vice President, Marketing from 2001 to 2003; Vice President, Russia and Caspian Region from 2003 to 2005; and Vice President, Marketing, Sales & Commercialization of WesternGeco's electromagnetic services and technology division from 2005 to 2006. Mr. Williamson originally joined ION in 2006 as Vice President of Integrated Seismic Solutions, which is now GeoVentures.
Education:
Mr. Williamson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geophysics from Cardiff University in Wales.

Larry Burke
Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources
With over 35 years of Human Resources experience, Larry Burke has applied his knowledge and experience to help shape the unique culture of technology and innovation at ION. He has served as ION's Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources since 2008.
From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Burke served as the Vice President of Human Resources for Silicon Valley Group, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Between 1994 and 2000, Mr. Burke was Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for the institutional broker/dealer BNY/ESI & Co. More recently, Mr. Burke served as Vice President of Human Resources at Global Crossing, a global telecommunications solutions provider, from 2000 to 2008.
Education:
Mr. Burke holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.

Greg Heinlein
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Greg Heinlein brings to ION a proven track record of building and leading the financial operations of global public and private companies. Mr. Heinlein has nearly 25 years of experience in finance and management for companies in the life sciences, energy, semiconductor, and chemical industries.
After completing his MBA in 1987, Mr. Heinlein joined The Dow Chemical Company and held various financial positions during his twelve-year tenure. From 1999 through 2004, Mr. Heinlein served as Vice President and Treasurer for Great Lakes Chemical Company and then for Fisher Scientific International. While at Great Lakes’, Mr. Heinlein helped lead an IPO and eventual sale of an oil and gas subsidiary. From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Heinlein was employed at Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., where he held a variety of senior management positions, including Vice President and Treasurer, and Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining ION, Mr. Heinlein served as Chief Operating and Financial office at Genprex, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company.
Education:
Mr. Heinlein received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Saginaw Valley State University and an MBA in finance from Michigan State University.

Colin Hulme
Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing
With 38 years in the oilfield services industry, including 28 in seismic, Colin Hulme brings to ION a rich blend of industry experience and market insight. As our Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Colin will drive our global strategic direction as well as our marketing and communication functions.
Mr. Hulme began his career at Digicon Geophysical, where he remained for fifteen years with his last position being Vice President. In 1989, he joined Schlumberger holding various management positions in WesternGeco, a subsidiary of Schlumberger, including Corporate Marketing & Commercialization Manager from 1994 to 1998. Following his tenure at WesternGeco, Mr. Hulme held positions at Schlumberger Information Solutions (SIS) including Vice President & Business Manager, Asia Region; and Vice President and General Manager, Reservoir Products. In 2002, Mr. Hulme returned to WesternGeco as Vice President & General Manager, Seismic Data Processing, overseeing the global division of 1,500 employees. For the last 5 years, Mr. Hulme served as Technical Director for Schlumberger’s Deep Reading activities.
Education:
Mr. Hulme attended Columbia School of Business Marketing School and was educated in the UK in Mathematics and Physics.

Jacques Leveille
Senior Vice President, Technology Advisor
Jacques P. Leveille has a proven history of providing cutting-edge innovations in technology and integration to the global E&P market. He is uniquely suited to serve with ION as Senior Vice President, Technology Advisor.
Prior to joining the Shell Development Company at the Bellaire Research Center in Houston in 1982, Leveille served as research faculty at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, focused primarily on elementary particle physics, and completed doctoral studies and post-doctoral appointments at Imperial College in London and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. In 1994, he then joined Hess Corporation where he held many appointments including Chief Geophysicist until 2010. Leveille is also the current Vice-Chair of the SEG Research Committee.
Education:
Mr. Leveille received a PhD in Physics from Boston University in 1976. Leveille served as research faculty at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, focused primarily on elementary particle physics, and completed doctoral studies and post-doctoral appointments at Imperial College in London and the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Dave Moffat
Senior Vice President, Marine Imaging Systems
With a deep understanding of marine environments and engineering technologies, Dave Moffat offers a wealth of experience as Senior Vice President of our Marine Imaging Systems Division, a position he has held since June 2007.
Between 1986 and 1989, Mr. Moffat was employed in various engineering design and development positions within the electronics defense and data security industry in the United Kingdom. In 1989, he joined Concept Systems Ltd (CSL), a supplier of advanced real-time navigation and data integration software and services to the E&P industry. He served in various engineering and managerial roles leading up to and through ION's acquisition of CSL in 2004. From 2006 to 2007, Mr. Moffat was the Vice President and Managing Director of CSL.
Education:
Mr. Moffat holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction in electronic and communication engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.

David Roland
Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Drawing from an extensive history of providing legal counsel to the energy industry, David Roland currently serves as Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, having joined ION in April 2004.
Mr. Roland was a corporate and securities attorney with the law firm of Gardere & Wynne from 1988 until 1994, when he joined Caltex Corporation, an international oil & gas marketing and refining company, where he was an attorney in the global headquarters. In 1998, Mr. Roland joined the legal department of Enron Corp., an energy trading and pipeline company. He held several positions there including Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.
Education:
Mr. Roland holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctorate with Distinction from St. Mary's University.
