Going Green
ION is proud to announce its ongoing efforts to be ‘green'. The company realizes that operating a successful business today and one which is respected by its employees, customers, and the community means working in unison with the environment.
To reduce the impact ION has on the Earth and its inhabitants, the company has taken measures to reduce waste within its offices. ION's headquarters and several of its satellite offices have adopted comprehensive recycling programs (including paper, plastics, aluminum, and electronics) in an effort to reduce the build up of landfills. ION also began providing reusable drinkware for employees and visitors, phasing out the use of Styrofoam cups.
America Recycles
ION supports an America Recycles Day event called Drop & Swap - hosted by Sustainable Living in Houston. America Recycles Day is a nationwide public  awareness campaign that aims to promote the social, environmental, and economic benefits of waste reduction and recycling and encourage more people to join the movement toward creating a better natural environment.
ION volunteers took part in an America Recycles Day event and in the process helped to collect six tons of electronics, a truckload of recyclables, and another truckload of clothing and household items which was given to the Purple Heart, a service organization that helps needy veterans and their families.
Partnering for Change
ION has stepped up and partnered with a local non-profit organization, Sustainable Living in Houston (SLH), to raise awareness and spark action within the Houston community to do something positive for the environment. ION's green actions and commitment to conservation has earned ION a place in SLH's ‘Erase the Mark' program, which recognizes businesses for going-green efforts and concern for the environment.  |
